Georgi Gospodinov to appear at literary festival in The Hague

Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov will take part in the Crossing Border literary festival in The Hague on 6 November. At the Royal Theatre, he will discuss his latest novel, The Gardener and Death, with Dutch writer and journalist Roos van Rijswijk.

“Georgi Gospodinov is a Bulgarian writer and one of Europe’s most prominent authors today,” the festival’s website says.

Gospodinov’s novel The Gardener and Death was published in Dutch in March this year. It was translated from Bulgarian by Hellen Kooijman, who also translated his earlier novel Time Shelter.

Organised by the non-profit cultural foundation Other World Productions, the Crossing Border festival will run from 3 to 8 November.
