Bulgaria is beginning preparations to host a UN Tourism forum dedicated to cultural tourism and education, with the support of UNESCO. The proposal was put forward by Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov at the Europe-Asia regional tourism forum in Podgorica, Montenegro.

The event is expected to take place in late May 2027 in one of Bulgaria’s most attractive destinations, the Valley of Roses, the Ministry of Tourism announced.

“Our international guests will experience the magic of the rose harvest and discover the cultural heritage we have preserved for centuries,” the minister added.

The forum programme could include a visit to the Rose Museum in Kazanlak, a presentation on the production of Bulgarian rose oil, and an opportunity for guests to explore the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, which is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage List, as well as the Valley of the Thracian Kings.
