Suspects in Starlink arson case expected to be extradited to Bulgaria

The two suspects accused of setting fire to Starlink facilities at a base near the village of Plana close to the Bulgarian capital Sofia are expected to be handed over to the Bulgarian authorities, Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev said, as quoted by the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

He noted that the suspects’ identities were established immediately after the incident. Both are German nationals who entered Bulgaria shortly before the arson attack and left the country immediately afterwards.

The Bulgarian authorities have carefully examined the suspects’ past activities, and the information has also been shared with their German counterparts. The two have previous criminal records, although these relate to robberies and road traffic accidents.
