Between 9:00 PM on December 31 and 1:00 AM on January 1, card payment systems will be switched from the lev to the euro, the Association of Banks in Bulgaria reminded.
During this short period, it will not be possible to make payments by card or online, nor to withdraw cash from ATMs. Customers are advised to have cash available for New Year’s Eve and the first days of 2026.
Between December 31 and January 2, banks will adjust their systems. Each bank has already informed its clients about the availability of its channels during this period.

From January 1, all card payments will be made in euros. ATMs will dispense only euro banknotes. No prior preparation is required for the transition to the euro, and there is no need to replace credit or debit cards. Bank account IBANs will remain unchanged.
