Since the introduction of the euro, the new currency has already become a natural part of everyday life for Bulgarians. The initial adaptation period has passed without major disruptions, and the latest survey by Alpha Research on the euro adoption process shows a clear predominance of positive over negative assessments, with 83% of respondents expressing a favorable view and 16% a negative one.

According to the sociological agency, this is due to the good level of awareness among citizens and businesses during the transition. Three out of four surveyed adult Bulgarians (76%) consider themselves very well or fairly well informed about the introduction of the euro, BGNES reported.

Currently, around 54% of citizens approve of the euro’s adoption, while 41% remain critical of the change. Support among businesses is even higher—nearly three-quarters of companies view joining the eurozone positively.
