“We do not make a distinction between Bulgarian citizens living in the homeland and those living abroad. That is why it is important to hear and understand your problems,” said Bulgaria’s caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov at a meeting in Kyiv with representatives of the Bulgarian associations “Rodolubie - Prof. Ivan Stoyanov,” the Ukraine-Bulgaria Friendship Society, the Kirovohrad regional organization of Bulgarians “Nashite Hora,” representatives of the city of Izmail, as well as Bulgarians working in offices of international institutions in Ukraine.

The meeting was hosted by the Bulgarian Embassy in Kyiv, headed by the mission leader Elena Slatinska-Ovanezova.

“Everything we do as a caretaker government and as a regular administration must have an impact on Bulgarian citizens, regardless of where they live. Our goal is to provide stability in this dynamic environment with two wars and a series of elections,” the Prime Minister said at the meeting.

A main focus raised by Bulgarians in Ukraine during the conversation with Gyurov was the study of the Bulgarian language in Ukraine, according to a post on the Facebook page of the Council of Ministers.
