Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov outlined his expectations ahead of the first sitting of the 52nd National Assembly, calling on the incoming governing majority not to waver and urging MPs to demonstrate courage and principles.

“Members of parliament must remember that they are entering the chamber today because people took to the streets - and even if they are now back in their homes, their demands and expectations for good governance remain unchanged,” he added.
According to Gyurov, citizens want a government free from greed, arrogance, and self-indulgence. He noted that over the past two months the caretaker cabinet has done a great deal to show that Bulgaria functions better without the Borissov-Peevski model, and that governance can be carried out with courage and integrity.
Responding to journalists, Gyurov said he has not discussed with Rumen Radev - who is expected to become the next prime minister - whether any of the current ministers will remain in the regular government.
