The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) has called for the convening of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation to discuss the trade union’s proposed package of 12 measures aimed at supporting Bulgarian households and businesses. This was announced by CITUB in a statement published on its website minutes after President Iliana Iotova handed over and received from Rumen Radev the fulfilled mandate for the formation of a regular government by “Progressive Bulgaria.”
Among the measures is the provision of targeted subsidies to state-owned and municipal transport companies to offset high fuel costs, with the aim of maintaining current ticket prices in urban and intercity transport. Another proposal is the introduction of a cap on fuel markups, up to 10% for wholesalers and up to 20% for retailers.
