Sarafov resigns as acting prosecutor general after prolonged dispute
Minister pf Justice Nikolay Naydenov had previously urged Sarafov to step down on his own, after the Supreme Judicial Council refused to open disciplinary proceedings against him.
Borislav Sarafov resigned as acting Prosecutor General on April 22. This came three days after “Progressive Bulgaria” won the parliamentary elections in the country with an absolute majority. The Prosecutors’ College of the Supreme Judicial Council subsequently appointed Vanya Stefanova as acting Prosecutor General for a six-month term.
