Alongside the recent agreement with major retail chains aimed at reducing prices, oversight of pricing practices and food quality is being stepped up, Prime Minister Rumen Radev said before the cabinet meeting. He announced that he had met with representatives of the road transport sector and that a joint decision had been made to support the sector, as all problems affecting it have an impact on food and service prices.

Prime Minister Radev also said that efforts to improve the business environment are continuing in order to reverse the negative trend of recent years, marked by a continuous decline in industrial production, exports and investment.
"Our goal is for the economy to operate more intensively, with higher productivity and greater added value", the Prime Minister stressed. According to him, the focus should not be only on cutting costs, but also on increasing state revenues.
