The owner of the Ukrainian corporation KUB, Oleg Nevzorov, was allowed to enter Bulgaria in order to give testimony in the investigation related to the illegal settlement that emerged in the “Baba Alino” area near Varna.

This was announced by Prime Minister Rumen Radev, quoted by BTA. According to him, Bulgarian security services were informed in advance about Nevzorov’s arrival and accompanied him to Sofia to provide testimony, and later to Varna.

When asked whether it was necessary to summon the Ukrainian ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the case, the prime minister said it is known that last year Ukraine’s ambassador had contacted the Foreign Ministry to request information about Nevzorov. “Whether and how the Ukrainian ambassador exerted political influence, I hope we will also learn from Nevzorov’s testimony,” Radev said.

At present, there is insufficient evidence to justify the detention of Oleg Nevzorov, stated earlier today in Varna Radoslav Lazarov, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office.

“I do not feel guilty and I hope that the truth will prevail. I hope for justice from the law enforcement authorities,” Nevzorov said yesterday after being questioned by police in Varna.

According to him, the construction in Baba Alino is legal. He denied claims that he had received any political protection.
